In-Vitro Evaluation of the Antibacterial Activity of the Methanol Leave Extract of Lawsonia Inermis Against Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA)

This study is to determine the antibacterial efficacy of Lawsonia inermis against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) which has become a leading cause infections. The leaves also known as Henna or lalley leave were subjected extraction with seventy percent (70%) methanol using cold maceration technique after phytochemical screening and partitioning carried out following standard procedures, hence, three fractions extract (crude extract, aqueous chloroform fractions) used thirty strains MRSA by agar well-diffusion minimum inhibitory concentration determination method. Preliminary revealed presence Alkaloids, Saponins, Tannins, Terpnoids, steroids. A two old serial dilution was done for each viz; 100mg/ml, 50mg/ml, 25mg/ml, 12.5mg/ml 6.25mg/ml. various dilutions on test organism there increase in zones inhibitions concentrations. At crude fraction had maximum inhibition zone 15.30mm higher than antibiotic used, 9 mm compared having 4.33mm. Among all showed best activity Methicilin Resistant aureus. Others lesser used.
